What is Myofasical Release?

Myofascial Release Blog:

Fascia is a system of the body which extends from head to toe without stoppage interweaving throughout muscles, tendons, bones, arteries as well as organs. It is commonly described as a spiderweb. It is connective tissue and can cause pain, restriction and inflammation within the body.

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. It is loaded with a constant force from the therapist until it is released. Fascia can also be released through heat and stretching and the therapist has to move through layers to penetrate deep within the fascial tissue.

Fascial restriction and tension can cause a lot of problems within the body, but the most common complaints presented clinically are:
• Headaches
• Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
• Hip Pain
• Restriction in Motion
• Knee, Ankle and Foot Pain
• Shoulder Pain
• Stress & Tension Related Problems
• Back Pain
• Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
• Elbow, Wrist and Hand Pain
• Jaw Pain, TMJ Dysfunction
• Neck Pain
• Osteoarthritis
• Plantar Fascitis
• Sciatica
• Scoliosis

If you have been “on the fence” about considering including Myofascial Release in your practice, it might be the time to seriously consider the benefits of Myofascial Release for you
